WW2 Hero's firearms found in Walton loft

(The) firearms were identified as those belonging to Geoffrey McLeod Hallowes who served with the Gordon Highlanders and later became an SOE (Special Operations Executive) agent, helping to organise French resistance after D-Day.
His contribution during the Second World War has been recognised by a number of gallantry awards, including the Croix de Guerre. Mr Hallowes died in 2006. He was married to French Resistance fighter and George Cross winner Odette Hallowes, MBE.
The guns including, an American M1 carbine (Semi-automatic:Ed.), a German MP40 sub machine gun (Full-Automatic:Ed.), a British Enfield .38 revolver and a German Luger 9mm pistol (Semi-automatic:Ed.), have been placed in The Gordon Highlanders Museum, in Aberdeen, along with Geoffrey Hallowes’ war medals...

So my question is this: Why was he not forced, like other British WW2 Vets holding war trophy weapons, to turn in and deactivate these pieces under the arbitrary & draconian gun laws English subjects suffer under?. Why was his wife not arrested and jailed for possession of "illegal firearms" like the commoners?. The stench of hipocracy befouls the air of UK "Gun Control"...(S9)

OAS Firearms Convention Is Incompatible with American Liberties

Abstract: President Barack Obama has called on the Senate to ratify CIFTA, the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacture of and Trafficking in Firearms, but the convention poses serious prudential risks to liberties guaranteed by the First and Second Amendments. The convention appears to be an end run around domestic obstacles to gun control. Furthermore, ratification of the convention would undermine U.S. sovereignty by legally binding it to fulfill obligations that some current signatories already disregard. The U.S. would be best served by continuing existing programs, cooperating with other countries on a bilateral basis, and making and enforcing its own laws to combat the traffic in illicit arms.

Pennsylvania Tyranny: Semi-Auto Ban Looms

"House Bill 1045 would bring California-style gun-control to the Keystone State and ultimately ban many semi-automatic firearms commonly owned by Pennsylvanians. HB1045 is an attempt to revive the failed Clinton Gun-Ban that sunset(sic)in 2004. This bill is about demonizing certain firearms based on how they look, not about crime fighting. This gun ban scheme will only punish law-abiding citizens and will do nothing to curb crime or keep criminals from obtaining firearms illegally. This is simply another attack on...Second Amendment rights in Pennsylvania"...(ILA)

This is the same technique used to turn thousands of California gun owners into "instant criminals" for simple possession of a legally purchased firearm!!. I remember the television ads by the California Atty. General warning owners to turn them in or face prison: Naked gun confiscation on prime-time!. I continue to warn readers that what happens in California will be coming to you if you don't pay attention!...Support the Pennsylvanians!. Mexican Semi-Auto Ban Propaganda continues on US Visit, American President bows down again

[Readers can check the archives listed at the right of this page from 2009 (April, May, July, & August) for news & comment refuting these blatant stinking dammed lies!...Here we go again...]
"There is one issue where Mexico needs your cooperation. And that is stopping the flow of assault weapons and other deadly arms across the border," Calderon said to a standing ovation from U.S. lawmakers. (Lie!:Not everyone was standing and applauding!-S9)
Calderon said the increase in violence in Mexico had coincided with the 2004 lifting of a U.S. assault weapons ban. (Liar - S9)
The 10-year ban on the sale of assault weapons to civilians expired without being extended by Congress. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has said the administration favors reinstituting the ban, though guns rights groups oppose it.
Calderon said he respects Americans' Second Amendment right to bear arms (Liar - S9) but said many of the guns are getting into the hands of criminals...
Mexico has seized around 75,000 guns and assault weapons in the last three years, Calderon said. He said more than 80 percent of them came from the United States and noted there were more than 7,000 gun shops along the border.
"I would ask Congress to help us, with respect, and to understand how important it is for us that you enforce current laws to stem the supply of these weapons to criminals and consider reinstating the assault weapons ban," he said.
Though Calderon's request received applause and a standing ovation from mainly Democratic lawmakers, Republicans criticized the Mexican leader for discussing U.S. laws. "It was inappropriate for President Calderon to lecture Americans on our own state and federal laws," said Senator John Cornyn, a member of the Republican leadership. "Moreover, the Second Amendment is not a subject open for diplomatic negotiation, with Mexico or any other nation."

This bumbling corrupt figurehead for the rich oligarchs of Mexico is bleating the same old anti-gun lie-packed script written by the international gun-grab mafia, and encouraged by the current resident in the White House as a wedge to enforce a pre-prepared anti-gun agenda. Like most "gun-free zones", of which Mexico is due to a near total ban on firearms for the law-abiding citizen, armed criminals can operate with impunity and the cadavers pile up. It takes guts to fight crime, but no guts at all to blame those who are NOT the problem, i.e. US gun laws and owners!...(S9)

"Fictional/Fantasy Gun Bans": A Proven Gun Haters Mind-Control Trend

Let me provide 3 examples of "Hitting em' where they ain't". 1) California's ban on .50 BMG rifles. The .50 Cal cartridge is essentially "ancient" technology, NOT some new high tech wonder weapon as implied by the gun-ban propagandists. Developed as an "anti-tank" round in the WW1 era, it quickly became obsolete for this role when Tank armor was upgraded. The round was extensively used by U.S. forces as a heavy machinegun round, and used by the Army Air Force during WW2 (mounted on fighter planes and heavy Bombers). The round saw action in the Korean War and Vietnam, and is still used even today by the military, it is that well designed. Civilian sport use of the round is limited to long range target work, where specialized military rounds are not a factor (and around which the many lies about it's capabilities are claimed by the gun-banners). Note that:"Despite the legislature's claim of a terrorist threat, as of 2009, there has been no terrorist attacks involving a .50 BMG. In fact, not only has the .50 BMG never been used to harm or kill anyone in California, there is no record of a .50 BMG rifle ever being used in the United States to commit a crime" [See:(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.50_Caliber_BMG_Regulation_Act_of_2004)]...Schwarzenneger signed this monstrosity into law based on his "experience" in (blank firing) fictional movie roles, plus alarmist claims by Feinstien that these rounds would penetrate the armored limousines used by, you guessed it, Fat-Cat Politicians: like them!. Looking out for number one (and damn their eyes for it!)...
2) Another example was pointed out in David Codrea's investigation of "Airsoft Guns". There are wild claims about these replica guns being "easily convertible" to functioning firearms, but the facts do not back up the fantasy. Note that even allegedly "fair and balanced" Fox News jumped on the "scary AR-15 semiautomatic assault weapon" bandwagon, a revolting development, from those one would think should know better. An expert Codrea interviewed pointed out: "What FOX did not print is that I told them anything including plumbing parts that are sold at home depot can be made into a gun and any 8th grader can build a gun in shop class. Making a gun is not a complicated task"...Here again we see something that has so far never happened being promoted for regulation based on a fantasy of what "could" happen. [(:
http://www.examiner.com/x-1417-Gun-Rights-Examiner~y2010m5d14-Fox-News-Airsoft-can-be-converted-to-real-guns-Will-that-make-toy-owners-felons)]
3)The most recent manifestation of this sinister nonsense comes out of England, where "real" firearms are effectively banned for the law-abiding, while criminals have plenty of "Black-Market" firearms available, knives are "banned", and people are regularly losing their eyesight in mayhem "glassing" attacks, where drinking containers are used as edged weapons at alcohol fueled social gatherings (and offenders are not receiving punishment proportional to their crimes I might add). One of the most inoffensive traditional tools for sport will now draw an owner a five year prison sentence for simple possession: a stinkin' "starter pistol", specifically the "Bruni Olympic .380 BBM revolver". A Fat-Cat Police official "justifies" this by claiming "The accessibility to comparatively sophisticated tools via DIY stores and their relatively low price have given criminals the means to convert these weapons...By removing these potential firearms (emphasis mine) from circulation (Police)...are contributing significantly to making Dorset safer for everyone"...(Although he admits these "non-weapons" are far from in the hands of the criminal underworld, citing "sports clubs, schools, theatrical groups, gun dog training schools" as being the places likely having these in inventory)...[(http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/8153080.Police_hold_gun_amnesty/)]...
Here again we see something that has so far never happened being promoted for banning & jail time based on a fantasy of what "could" happen rather than reality on any level.
-----------------------
This is what you get when you have fools, ignorant of even the simplest facts about firearms, operating out of fear, hate, and exaggerated imaginings; concocting crackpot policies that will literally put an otherwise lawful person in prison on a simple technical violation, based on a fantasy, NOT a proven violent crime(!) (How sick-minded is that? This is "Public Safety"? Like hell it is!). This is symptomatic of the "meddler", the proverbial person with "too much time on their hands" and "nothing better to do" than bring up such absurdities, but permitting them the power of tyrants is the true evil. Gun owners world wide have way too many of these "petite tyrants" oppressing the innocent with these "intolerable acts," while simultaneously insidiously hypnotizing a gullible public into complacency with their media mind-control propaganda demonizing legitimate gun ownership, even when the "guns" involved are not "guns" at all or have never been used in any sort of violent crime whatsoever!! (Which itself is a greater crime )....(S9)

Canadian Tyranny: It's time to pull the plug on the long-gun registry

Last year alone, the registry was used 3.8 million times. That averages out to 10,411 times a day -- or seven times a minute, 365 days a year.
Here's what that means, according to rank-and-file officers who oppose the registry. Each time an officer searches for any kind of information about anyone, the database is tapped. It's accessed automatically, all the time.
Police routinely assume there may be firearms inside a dwelling, registry or no. That's why they wear tactical vests and take routine precautions. The registry is not enforceable. And criminals do not register their weapons.
Polls show that Canadians are evenly divided here. Rural Canadians, however, are overwhelmingly against. Rural people control some 70 seats in Parliament.
For that reason the Liberals now intend to soften the long-gun registry. The Conservatives, via private members' bill, are bent on killing it. The New Democrats are keeping mum for now, for fear of alienating their own rural vote.
The long-gun registry isn't worth the fuss. It's been on life-support for years. It's time to pull the plug.

Illinois Tyranny: Semiauto Ban Resurfaces

Illinois Firearms Ban Threatens Sportsmen
An “assault weapon” ban currently pending in Illinois would prohibit many commonly used hunting firearms and could be up for a vote at any time on the Statehouse floor.
The measure, House Bill 5751 introduced by Representative Edward Acevedo (D-Chicago), would prohibit the manufacture, delivery, sale, purchase or possession of semi-automatic “assault weapons.” The bill defines assault weapon to include many firearms that are commonly used for hunting such as semi-automatic shotguns that have either a pistol grip or a thumbhole stock...“This legislation casts an extraordinarily wide net catching many firearms that sportsmen commonly use,” said Evan Heusinkveld, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) director of state services. “Illinois sportsmen are making their voice heard and we hope that the House will understand the damaging effects of this measure.”...

While criminals run rampant in Chicago, one of their useless politicians attacks the people who are NOT part of the problem with another misbegotten version of a semiauto ban, using the standard template meddling firearms ignorant haters have made cliche'. Another Example: How Criminals & Terrorists Obtain Firearms

Looted: 47 Insas rifles, 12 AKs, over 8,900 bullets
The Naxals who killed 76 CRPF personnel...(captured) 47 Insas rifles, 12 AK-47s, 30 rifle grenades, 41 hand grenades, six light machine guns, 56 magazines for LMGs, 2,600 rounds and four magazines for AK-47s, nearly 6,300 rounds of Insas ammunition, two bullet-proof jackets and 10 wireless sets. The Maoists used AK-47s and LMGs from atop a hillock (to ambush the government security personnel)...

Notorious Bandits such as Dillinger, Baby-Face Nelson & Bonnie and Clyde raided Police Stations and National Guard Armories to obtain machineguns and automatic pistols...Bad guys will get guns one way or another, so good guys need to be armed to suppress evildoers!...(Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it) Some things never change: only the foolish attitudes fostered by the weaklings that don't have to do the dirty work, and hinder the heroes that do!...(S9)

California Tyranny: Long Gun Registration Bill Still Pending

AB1810 would establish a registration system, similar to the one currently in place for handguns, for all newly-acquired long guns. Under AB1810, the make, model and serial number of the firearm as well as the identifying information of the purchaser would be recorded and kept on file by the California Attorney General’s office.
If AB1810 were enacted, violent criminals would continue doing what they do now – obtain firearms through illegal means. This bill would not decrease crime but will rather have disastrous effects on the already financially unstable Golden State. AB1810 would impose additional burdens on California’s taxpayers to maintain the registration system as well as on the state’s licensed firearms dealers, small businesses who already deal with extensive business requirements.
One simply needs to look at Canada, a nation with draconian firearms registration, to see the results – billions in cumulative administrative costs, annual cost overruns, no clear substantiation of public safety benefits, unjust prosecution, and a bureaucratic complexity that daunts those willing to comply. Ironically, California is considering a new registration scheme as Canada is considering doing away with its system.
